Resin

So lately I have started to work with some resin. This has been a fun and new experience for me  and I find working with resin quite enjoyable! Here are a few things that I have made that I thought were nice enough to be shared.

Some of these I have embellished with crystals and do not have pictures yet.

I made this one for my Aunt's birthday, it is a key-chain and I even got the sand from my local beach so she could take a little bit of home back with her!

This one is my brother's as an added gift for his birthday he loves his heroes!

The elephant also ended up being a gift for my cousin if you can't tell the sticker is squishy
This one is mine and is really big! people think its a Reese's cup! If you look carefully along the edge you can see the flowers I put in, the sticker is also squishy!
I have a boy panda sticker that I want to make a pair with.
I know it is hard to see but it does say "It's a Girl" when I started with the resin I got all different kinds of confetti and this is one and I was just playing around with them... If I had to do another one I wouldn't do the pink glitter, makes seeing everything too difficult.
I really like this one the kitty almost looks like it is floating in a little galaxy! I have more kitty and puppy stickers that I want to use so more to come of these!
I LOVE LISA FRANK! But not the human part of it...they creep me out a little. This is actually a tattoo! When this is held up to the light it has a cool effect with swirls and stuff.....want to do more!

This is one of my favorite necklaces that I have made!

Was suppose to be just a "It's a Boy" but there was an accident and the whole thing got tilted so I added more resin to level it out and add the "It's a Girl" confetti so now it is "TWINS!"

So that is it for now but there are more in the making! Let me know what y'all think!

Even still

This is for those of you who don't like to wear Lolita out side of the house or a big group.(I know it is SCARY!)

Are you scared or nervous of leaving home while wearing Lolita and doing so by yourself?
Well I know how you feel every time I leave my apartment, on a day off from work and spend the day doing what ever it is I do, I can't help but think, "Will any one harass me about my outfit or make a rude comment?" Well its gonna happen and probably has for some I know it can be a confident killer. But one thing I like to think about, after giving myself a pep-talk, is that most people wear outfits because they saw it in a magazine or its whats available and have no idea why they wear it or where the fashion style came from. As Lolita's we tend to research the beginnings of the Lolita fashion ( I know I did) and decide to wear it not only that we like it and feel comfortable but because it does have a good rich history behind the lace and frills. That and I like that this is a more sophisticated fashion with longer skirts and appropriate blouses. I am a O.T.K sock person and just feel wrong wearing any skirt or dress without them (kinda feels naked) and to me that seems less....what would a good word be?...um slutty? I already have pretty longs legs and when wearing skirts or shorts I feel as if I am walking around in my undies...its not a comfortable feeling and I feel that when I see a young girl walking around in "Daisy Duke" style shorts that she is showing way too much for my tastes..I like to keep in mind that not everyone is going to like the Lolita fashion but I do find many where I live that will stop me and say they like my skirt or want to know more about my outfit. I tend to ignore everyone else and keep a slight smile on my face because I am getting the rare chance to wear clothes outside my house that I like. Oh sure I say hi and nod at people I notice noticing my outfit but if they give me an odd look I either smile sweeter at them making them feel embarrassed that they were caught staring or they look away and leave me alone.

FUNNY STORY:
One day I was in Books-A-Million wearing one of my Lolita outfits and I was stopped by a little boy (about 9-12 in age I guess) and he asked me "why are you wearing that?". I LOVE how kids are honest and open and ask questions because they just want to know and not to be MEAN or rude. So in return I asked the little boy, "well, why are you wearing what you're wearing?", and without missing a beat he replied, " cuz what I am wearing is awesome!" and he turned and simply walked away.... Now I have posed that same response to anyone that asks why I am wearing any type of clothing.. and it makes them think about why they are wearing what they are and whether or not their question was appropriate...but I do always remind myself to be nice even if the other person has NO MANNERS and tell myself, " this will make for a funny story later!"

March Maddness!

I Cant Wait for March!!!
My group is doing some culturally fun get-togethers!
First off on the 1st we are going to a local Renaissance Fair, I have always wanted to go to one!
I am even dragging my husband(horrible wife, I know)!

Then there is Mardi Gras! Trying to decide if I wanna do an outfit for that..May not have anything but will try.

I have a few important birthdays in March as well...got to get fun presents for that!
St. Patty's day of course, cant forget about that one.
Then at the end of the month we are going to see a play...Sweeney Todd...I am thinking of dressing up as Mrs. Lovett but I'm not sure yet...

And I just plain ol' can't wait for

Will get some pics up as soon as I can for all the events.

The OCM Challenge!

OK! So after reading onegoodthingbyjillee on the Oil Cleansing Method I decided to give it a go!
I usually have oily skin even after I wash and am constantly fighting that shiny face look...
I have been using JoJoba Oil instead of Extra Virgin Oil because I couldn't bring myself to put EVO on my face...I also added in a few drops of Tea Tree Oil in too..maybe like 3 drops in a 4-5 ounce bottle.

The combination I used was 2ounces of the Castor Oil and 1ounce of the Jojoba, the a few drops of the Tea Tree Oil...I really like this combination! My skin feels really good, too! Most of the oily and greasy feeling is gone, I say that because I don't think it will go away till I stop working with fryers so I am happy right now...

I read a few other bloggs on this method and saw that a few people said it made them break out with lots of black heads and stuff and I had a thought on this..Its not that it makes you break out I think its more of it brings them to the surface..I did notice at first that my black heads were more notice able but after a few days of doing this a few times they seem to be going a way....Then again I am also Cheating a bit too......lol.....I will get to that in a moment....

OK so I suggest reading the onegoodthingbyjillee link that I have and also reading the other links that she has posted just to get all the info you can so you know if this is something you really want to do....
What I like is that there really is no limit on how much or how often this can be done...even though I usually only do this at night after work but sometimes I will also do this in the morning or just when ever I feel I need to.....
So what you do is mix your combination..my suggestion is to get  a bottle to pre-make a bit to try out...I got a 5oz bottle to do this with...pour some in your hands and massage gently onto face for a minute or so then steam your face with a warm ( or how ever warm you can stand), then repeat till you are satisfied...next you will rinse your towel and wipe your face of the excess oil..then you are supposed to rinse your towel in cool water to help shrink your pores...now what I will do every now and then is use a pore strip..on my nose and chin to help..then use the cool towel...now that is just me and you can do what you would like...
I will note this I have this odd pore on my right cheek that is really big and deep that I have  not been able to get anything out of but just recently was able to get part of a black head out and seems less noticeable...so I am happy!!!

OH OH before I forget you can also use this before you take a shower to steam your face then wipe it off while in the shower...just in case this may seem easier for you...

A Mayonase Story

I WILL  NOTE THAT I HAVE BEEN KNOWN FOR MY DIRTY MIND! I WILL NOT CHANGE OR APOLOGIZE FOR IT EITHER...
*WARNING THIS STORY IS PART OF MY DIRTY MIND*
IT IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND IT IS JUST A RETELLING OF SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED AT WORK THAT WAS FUNNY AND I AM SHARING.

So one night I was closing work with Juan and another member of our group. When I walked up to Juan (who was restocking breads) and ask him, "have you ever had one of those moments when you are holding something in your hand and your mind makes this "left field" leap to a thought that is just tangent on what you are holding?" Juan looks up at me and answers, "yes of coarse."
(This is where my mind makes that "left field" leap, Im a dirty thinker ok guys!)
" So I was just standing there holding this jar of mayo getting to put it away, ok. When for some reason, I have no idea why, my mind decides to "leap" to this article I remember reading in the newspaper. This article was about how they are planning to make it a requirement for porn actors to use condoms at all times while on the film stages, and how they would regulate this requirement. (you probably have a good idea of where im going with this) The article covered a few ideas but one stuck with me about how they could have "surprise" visits to film sets to see if the actors are wearing condoms. Suddenly I had this mental image of Department X* making a surprise visit to a film sight." at the end of this Juan suddenly erupts into laughter just as Brian one of the guys form another departments comes up to start stocking his stuff. On seeing the look on Juan's face and hearing him tell me that there is something wrong with me, Brian looks at me and said, "I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW!"
So naturally I just had to tell him....( Im twisted am I not?) At the end of my story, which he did listen to, Brian erupts into laughter too saying he already had a problem with mayo after puberty but I just made it worse!
Now every time I see either one I cant help but say, in a sing song voice, "MMMMAAAAYYYOOOONNNAAASEE...." and enjoy the satisfaction of watching them erupt into more laughter.....

NOTE*: Department X- we hire an out-side company to "grade" each department kind of like the Health Department does only they are harder to pass....I am talking like they show up in lab-coats and stuff...if everything "looks" clean they go looking for things....in places most people don't usually clean.

Although I did clam that I didn't know the reason for my mind's "left field" leap I remembered it later on..it started off as a smaller leap to the remembered thought of that mayo was at one point used as a sound effect (also chocolate syrup was used in that famous black and white shower stabbing scene)...

Lolita Birthday!

So my best friend's birthday just came and gone...and she had a lolita birthday party...well sorta...
Around the area where we live there is a nice shopping plaza and movie theater..the plan was to eat lunch and shop for a while then see a movie...unfortunately there was no movie showing around the time we planed to be there so we "skipped" the movie ( I will get to the "skipped" movie part later).

So here we go!
First off lunch! (my favorite meal)

As you can see we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and it was an experience! The music was great and they started to do the "YMCA" and all the servers danced and sang along...Very fun to watch I do recommend going if there is one near by! the food was great too! This beauty was the California burger it had a thick patty that was medium done, cucumbers, guacamole (which I got on the side), tomatoes, lettuce,  ranch, and Monterrey  jack cheese...Mmmm..

This is my friend and the outfit she wore for her birthday!
Isn't she just cute!

Not everyone dressed up though, it was still kind of cold out and a few girls were waiting on new items to come in.
So after lunch we walked around and visited a few shops, talked and laughed and had a great time!
First off was a book store...and I adore books!
but we ended up playing around with the hats

Whoops she caught me taking this pic and didn't seem too thrilled....lol
We really liked this hat on her!

While we were playing around with the hats a lady with two little girls came up and asked one of us our age (she wanted help with buying a gift and thought of asking someone around the same age for help) though she didn't seem too impressed when we told her we were all above 20...lol ( just one of those moments when you realize how close minded some people can be).

We then visited a make-up store that was in the plaza but no pics of this...then we hit up a Forever 21...I got 2 necklaces may post pictures of them later.
Then on to The Candy Factory! I love this place, though it could be because I love sweets! I did get a few things...some gummie coke candy and peach rings for my hubby.
We ended up walking around and wondering into a small bakery, and I can't remember the name but they had some cute things! like these..

These had glitter on them and were so pretty!
We got smoothies and a group shot. well sortof....some decided not to be in the shot...but here it is
Thanks for reading!

A Mysterious Stranger

You know when you fall asleep and start a dream but have no idea how you got in your dream or if it is real? That is how she felt when she woke up under the shade of a tree. The light filtering down between the leaves of the tree was warm and the grass felt soft. She rolled to her side and curled up and tried to fall back to sleep, to warm happy dream she knew she must have been having. A gentle breeze blew carrying the scent of honey and something else that was sweet and tangy. Her stomach grumbled at the smells compelling her to sit up so she could see where they were coming from. She was in a meadow with thigh high grass that was lush, soft and so very green, there was trees dotted through-out heading up a slight hill towards a forest. The trees were large with long arms for branches that when standing under seem to reach up and support the sky with their leafy hands. The breeze blew again carrying the sent of honey with it stronger now. Her stomach growled loudly now. She had to know what those wonderful smells were, so she started off in the direction she thought they were coming from. As she walked she let her finger tips run along the tips of the grass enjoying the soft feel and the grassy scent that it created. The light was warmer out side of the shade of her tree and the breeze that continued to blow felt even better out there. As she got closer and closer to the forest the smells of honey and that other tangy sweet scent got stronger and stronger making her stomach growl more often. She came to the edge of the forest and stopped before walking, she didn’t know this forest and wasn’t sure about going in. It was darker in there with those lovely trees closer together blocking more light; the grass was much shorter in the forest growing only as high as her ankles now. That gentle breeze blew with those delicious smells drawing her in the forest compelling her to enter till she could no longer resist and stepped inside.

Innocent Worls LP

So my lucky pack came in the mail on Saturday and no one was home to sign for it so seeing as it is now Monday we took the trip to our post office to pick it up!

This is my second lucky pack that I have ordered..this time from Innocent World!
This is what I got!

I may end up selling this seeing as it is too small
This blouse is lovely but is too small and I will have to sell it

Think I will keep this skirt

Will have to sell this too...

I got the most lovely coat! I love this!

selling this too small
socks!

I am not much of a bow person but I like this one so I am thinking of keeping it!

I feel like this was a very nice lucky pack but most of the items are too small for me so most of them are going to be sold....If any one has any interest in anything let me know!

A Perfectly Good Snack!

Is it wrong that I like to take the "Perfectly Good Snack" that is cut celery and peanut butter and add either marshmallow or chocolate chips? Not very often mind you that would not be healthy just every once in a while. Or at least when ever we actually have the stuff in the house...Try it some time and see if ya'll think its good too! My husband thinks its kinda odd and not for him, which is not all that unusual seeing as he says I like weird things...Ya'll should have seen him when I shared my childhood snack of toast with a mix of peanut butter with syrup...Had an uncle hook my sister and I on it...Have not done it since sharing it with my husband...I also like dried squid which he thinks is absolutely disgusting....I know I know many of you might agree.. Any one have a snack many people seem to think is odd? Share them if you get the chance to! You just might find someone that is willing to try and just might find it enjoyable!

Something in my head

There's something in my head.
I can feel 'em movin' around,
squirming and turning

Telling me lies,
horrible stories.
poisoning my mind!

showing me pictures in my sleep,
and even in my waking.
The pictures!
OH the horrible pictures!

My mind!
Am I being poisoned?
Am I going crazy?

There's someone in my head.
I can feel 'em movin' around,
squirming and turning
biting and clawing.

Am I being poisoned?
Am I going crazy?
Am I who I really think I am?
Or is this person really me and I'm really that person?
Whats happening to me?
I'm being poisoned!
I'm going crazy!

Cruising along

So I got married last Sunday, October 21st, and for our honeymoon we decided to take a cruise! It started out well and dandy we woke up early Monday morning started our 5.5 hour drive to Jacksonville, Fl. that went by in almost a flash! Then we got to the port and our first problem happened...so after we bought our tickets and paid for them we got a call a few weeks later asking if we wanted to upgrade to this limited time offer of the "Owners suite", which is obviously reserved for the cruise line owner and also celebrities. Usually it was to be rented out for the cost of the VIP suite we got plus an extra  $1000 a night so that would have been and extra $5000 tacked onto our cost but we got it for a flat fee of $1700. When we were talking to the guy helping us with the upgrade I asked what we needed to print out, and in return I was told that all we needed were the luggage tags and that would identify us as the current owners of the penthouse suite. We would then be personally escorted up to our room and our luggage would arrive after us....WONG!! every turn we had to explain that we were told not to print out a receipt stating that we had the penthouse..but in the end it was all sorted out and we were indeed escorted up to the ship past all the other lines and strait to our room( just getting a VIP suite is worth it trust me). The room was absolutely lovely!

We over looked the pool area on deck and had our own balcony, and no kids running screaming up and down the halls around us because there were only the 2 rooms up there that mirrored each other. The doors for these rooms are set back away from normal walking areas so most people don't know they are there. Ok, so the beginning of day one is off to a great start really just one small blip that's all and it stayed that way, we wondered the ship for a while (got lost a lot) and watched the ship take off. That is something you want to watch, the Captain had to swing the ship and to a 180 degree turn to go back down the canal. If anyone tells you that because of the size of these ships you will not feel them moving or rocking then they are partially correct. For the most part you can't but I still did and this was an odd experience but was fine..just don't focus to hard out one of the windows in the dinning areas because that made me feel kinda "floaty headed".  Every day they have different events and activities you can do, I suggest looking up the ship you are going to be on and seeing what types of things they generally do event ways to get a good idea just keep in mind every couple of years they change things around so that those re-taking the same cruise don't experience the same thing over and over again. I recommend taking in the "Showtimes", which take place in their theater area on stage they did "Hay Mambo!" on our second day. Worth it just worth it..plus it's free so hey why not?
I do want to recommend 2 things to ya'll reading this
TIP: When selecting the dinning times options I say try getting the "Anytime" dinning this way you can do the formalish sit down dinning anywhere between the first dinning time and like 9 I think. This is all about having flexibility in deciding in what you want to do. Oh and when you do sit down at your table they will offer you 2 different types of bottled water unless you have an aversion to iced tap water I would say pass on the bottled ones...the one we got the first day was like $4.
TIP: If you like soda and drink a bit of it I recommend seeing if you can get something like an "Endless Bubbles" card...I believe most cruise lines have one..ours was like $37 for the 5 day trip we took and it paid for its self...the ship we were on was charging about $2 a glass so in like 4 glasses it has paid for the cost..I like soda and they had Sprite so I was happy! This wont cover room service though!
OK so day 2 was good we wondered the ship checked out some of their events ate lots of food (guys the food is paid into your room cost so eat up!) looked at the shops.

TIP: If you buy alcohol on board your ship they will probably keep it till the end of the trip and there are customs fees if you buy past a certain amount so I recommend looking into that before you buy on the ship or even at any ports..

We don't swim much and I don't like to sit in a hot tub so we didn't do any of those but you should know the obvious things like SUNBLOCK!
Don't forget to make friends..we did they were an older couple probably about our parents age but they were nice and gave us advise about some of the things they do on board event wise and stuff. They usually do the "Captain's Dinner" on this night also. That means your gonna have to dress up and look all pretty! Usually this is an opportunity for photos, they will probably have photographers all over the ship to take the pics for you, again I say do it! Do as many as you can stand to, there is no obligation to buy them the next day and you just might find one or two you like..but be warned the portraits were like $22 each when we did ours (we got 2 of them). I liked this night because it gave me a chance to wear a dress that hasn't been worn in a while!

Day 3 was a port day. Now they still do activities on the ship for those that do not want to go to the port and walk around. Our first port was Key West, Fl....I know I know not very exotic but we had never been and it was interesting to see it...they have a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and a Peppers of Key West...(that's a hot sauce bar http://www.peppersofkeywest.com/default.asp) and this little mall area that's close to the port but its not great the only thing I recommend there is going to the second floor to the animal in counter and see if the guy will let you do the "ultimate encounter" which is a planetarium thing..its not "OMG This is AMAZING!!!" or anything  like that but it is interesting..though I do have to warn you the guy is religious so it has touches of that in there so if you get offended by stuff like that don't do it! And if you follow the shore off towards the right side there is this convenience store down there that has like beer for $2 a bottle and the guy will give you a cup if you want to drink it while you walk....YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR BEER IN A RED CUP IF YOU ARE DRINKING IT AS YOU WALK AROUND.....DO NOT IGNORE THIS!!!
I was a little disappointed in how little time we got to have at the port but they have other ships coming and going so it is what it is...and I think you can imagine how the rest of the day went for us..you can also do "excursions if you want to..like paid tours and things like swimming with dolphins and stuff like that if you want to but we didn't want to and just decided to walk around..though I think we should have rented like bikes or something because we could have gone farther out but hind sight is 20/20...

Ok now this is where my trip gets disappointing....After the Key West we were supposed to go to the Nassau, Bahamas...but guess what? Tropical Storm Sandy became Hurricane Sandy and we couldn't (for safety reasons) go to Nassau...I understand I really do and we kind of saw this coming but none the less it is sad...so the next 2 days were spent on a ship that was rocking so bad that sober people were walking like drunken sailors..and the pool had to be drained...At this point I started to feel sick and spent the last 2 days of our trip with a stomach that was rolling around and flipping about like crazy...we suddenly became the Oceans "Rubber Ducky". Not Fun....we were looking forward to the second show they had on day 4 but both showings had to be canceled due to the hazard a moving stage introduced...didn't wand the saying "break a leg" to become a bad luck accident.. Understandable but still I was looking forward to this showing because the last show they had was so much fun...and they said that it would be one of the last few times they did it because at the beginning of the year the ship would be docked for a while and they were going to update the ship and shows..

Another good thing about if you do get any of the VIP suites is that if you decide on assisted disembarkation ( if you need help getting your luggage off the ship on the last day) is that you are called in group 1 after they do unassisted disembarkation, and they do those by what floor you are on.
we were up and off the ship almost as fast as we were escorted on the ship. And then we were through customs and to our car and off we went back on our 5.5 hour drive back home!

TIPS AND TRICKS
Don't forget that most cruises will let you bring a bottle of wine on board with you per person...ours allowed 750ml bottles...and they can be pre-opened before boarding the ship so if you have any in your house don't worry about buying new bottles..just make sure they go in your carry-on luggage...we got some from our parents and that mixed with our soda card made some *cough, cough* good mixed drinks....*cough, cough*
REMEMBER the cost of alcoholic drinks like beer and mojitos and stuff like that are killer...

And start packing and gathering things for this trip in advance I started at least 2 days before we left!!
